Chamberlain University has opened a new campus for nursing students in Overland Park. The expansion arrives at a critical time for Kansas, where approximately 25 percent of registered nurses plan to retire or leave the profession within the next five years, according to the Kansas Nursing Workforce Center.

The new campus, located at 6130 Sprint Parkway, will offer a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program that can be completed in three years. Designed to accelerate entry into the workforce, the program allows students to begin immediately without prerequisite coursework and includes hands-on training in state-of-the-art simulation labs. The first group of students began classes on January 5, 2026, and the next start date will be on May 4, 2026.

“As a longtime resident of this community, I see the nursing workforce pipeline needs in our region firsthand,” said Karen Cox, PhD, RN, president of Chamberlain University. “With a quarter of Kansas nurses planning to leave the profession within five years, this campus creates a win-win for our region.”
