Overland Park’s story of growth is not accidental. It is built through partnerships, thoughtful leadership, and a community that continues to invest in its future. That spirit was on full display at the Overland Park Chamber Economic Development Council’s Honors Award Luncheon, where civic leaders, investors, business owners, and community partners gathered to reflect on a year of meaningful progress.

By the Numbers: A Year of Measurable Momentum

The numbers tell a powerful story. In 2025, Overland Park saw $143.3 million in capital investment, more than 2,600 new jobs added, and nearly 250 jobs retained. Those positions carried an average wage of $95,300, reinforcing the city’s reputation as a place where opportunity and quality of life go hand in hand. These results were made possible through collaboration between the City, the Chamber, the Kansas Department of Commerce, regional partners, and local developers.

Several major corporate expansions helped drive that momentum. Fiserv’s decision to bring 2,000 jobs and $125 million in investment to the Aspiria campus marked one of the largest projects in Kansas history. Security Benefit announced an expansion with 30 high-paying roles. Companies like Electrical Corporation of America and Southwind revitalized existing spaces, while Propio Language Services continued to grow its headquarters presence in Overland Park. These companies could expand anywhere, but they chose Overland Park for its talent pipeline, pro-business environment, and strong community infrastructure.

At the same time, the EDC’s work extended beyond large announcements. More than 35 early-stage entrepreneurs received direct support, and over 50 small businesses benefited from research, mentoring, and strategy resources. Workforce initiatives such as Opportunity NOW and the “Summer in OP” intern program connected more than 175 interns with professional development and meaningful community experiences, helping create long-term talent retention.

But behind every statistic is a business owner, a builder, a civic leader, or a team choosing to invest here. The Honors Awards exist to recognize those individuals and organizations shaping Overland Park’s next chapter.
